How people became industrious

Many years ago there was a planet called Habor. People lived on it. But they were very weak and could not protect their villages. That is why one of inventors made an interesting thing called “Joyky”. It was a plastic ball. When people were born they got their own Joyky. Those balls were different and interesting. Each Joyky had basic cards. During the lifetime a person had to invent new options for the cards.

In the village called Eagle there lived two brothers. The oldest brother, Lam, had Joyky called Spot and the other brother, John, had Joyky called Am. Lam was in the sixth form but John was not studying at school because he was only six. Boys like John had to do a special business. It was a special task in the Jungles. John had to do this task with Lam. Brothers had to find a Cup of Five Kings in the Jungles.

At last the day of adventure came and the boys went to the tropical forest. They took a dog called Lycky with them. And, of course, Lam and John took Joyky.

First they saw a stream. John was thirsty and wanted to drink water from it. He leaned towards water and drank. Suddenly he dropped the basic card. “Oh, no, ” screamed Lam, “you dropped the card!” “It doesn’t matter!” answered John. “Am can do its business without the card, ” he said proudly.

The boys had to cross the stream. “I`ll use Am, ” said John. “Don’t use Joyky for this easy chance! Let’s think, ” said Lam. “But we don’t have much time!” answered John. So he threw a card over the stream and then threw Am over the water. The ball opened and stretched its arm like a bridge over the stream. John crossed the river and put the card into the bag. Am jumped on the boy’s shoulder. Lam did not use Spot. He took a branch and put it over the water. Lycky jumped over the stream.

Then the boys went to the Tiger’s cave. There they met an angry tiger. Lam threw a magic bottle to John. He caught it and directed it onto the animal. The tiger crashed into the small pieces and flew into the bottle. John opened the bottle and Joyky fell onto the grass. The tiger changed into Joyky.

A tall boy went out of the cave. His name was Roarer. He had an angry smile and did not look friendly. He took Joyky-tiger and threw the card onto the ground. The battle started. The tiger roared so loudly that the leaves from trees flew away. John threw a special card and Am put a golden hat onto its head. The hat was shining as brightly as the Sun. The tiger screamed and ran to the tall boy. “Your Joyky is very strong! Now you can go through the cave, ” he said. Then the boy andthe tiger disappeared. “It was a great battle, ” said John. “This bottle helped us, ” said Lam and put the bottle into a rucksack. Lycky was waving his tail because he was so happy!

Later the boys walked to the waterfall. But the water was so dirty. Lam threw the card and Spot changed its hand into a big scoop. The scoop took all mud and threw it away. “What are you doing?” asked John, “we must only fly across the waterfall with Am!” “Fish must live in clear water. You are bad, John!” answered Lam. John did not listen to his brother. He threw a card and Am. Joyky changed its arms into wings and flew with the boy to the other coast. Lam took a rope from the rucksack and threw it onto the tree twig. Then Lycky jumped onto Lam and he flew over the water to John.

Then brothers went to the Trees Square. Magic frogs lived there. Young kings of Habor had guards - frogs. And they had Joyky. Kings could not use Joyky. But when Kings lost the Magic Cup the frogs went in TreesSquare. The Magic Cup of Five Kings had special magic nucleus, which joined together all people of Habor. But when King Andy lost the Cup in the Jungles, time of wars came to the planet.

John saw a frog. It was wearing a crown. “Go away! It is the land of magic frogs!” screamed the frog. Lam gave the bottle to his brother. John tried to change the frog into Joyky but it did not want to change! The frog called Mahaon had its own Joyky – Crown. Mahaon threw the card and Crown blew as strong as a wind. John threw his card and Am. Am had a cage in its arm and took Crown. Then Am put Crown into the cage. Am won again. “Now you can go through Tree Square, ” said Mahaon.

After that the boys went onto the road. “While Crown was blowing, my cards flew into those durty paddles!” screamed John. “What can we do now? We lost your cards and Lycky!” said Lam unhappily.

Suddenly they stopped. “Look into this paddle! There is a card and Lycky’s steps in mud!” screamed John. The boys walked farther and farther into the forest and they heard a distant familiar voice. “Oh! Do you hear this? I think that it is Lycky!” said Lam.

At last they went onto a wide meadow with pale flowers. “Oh, oh! Look, look!” exclaimed John, “it is Lycky. The dog came out the tall grass. Lycky was holding something in his mouth. “Lycky has found your cards!” said Lam. “Oh, thank you, my dear pet!” whispered John into Lycky’s ear. “Now we must go through the meadow to reach the Throne Hall! There we`ll find the Cup of Five Kings!” said John happily. Lam looked at his brother indignantly. “Look at this meadow! The flowers are pale because they don’t have much sun-light!” he said. “If you want to have a School-star, you will help nature like me with your Joyky, ” Lam exclaimed.

John became thoughtful. At last he threw the card and Am into the grass. Am changed its arm into a big grass-knife and weeded tall grass. Sunrays fell onto the flowers and theybecame colorful. “Hurray!” exclaimed John.

The boys had to do the task within one day. Midnight
