Some many people do not have an understanding of what a great impact this could have on our everyday lives. I think of what if I tried to going to the ATM machine to get money, and what do you know it says that you have zero dollar balance. Something that I have wanted to try was talking on the phone at about 5 minute to midnight and then have the year change from 1999 to 1900, conceivably this could be a 100 year phone call. Even at AT & T?s rates of 10 cents a minute that phone call could cost anywhere in the neighborhood of 52 million dollars.A number of things could happen, for the moment these are just theories, who knows, January 1st, 2000 could come with out a problem. We could also spend much of the next year wondering whether the Y2K problem is a genuine menace or just a bad techno-joke. One thing is for sure, we have to wait and see what happens and be careful not create our own disaster.
